Domestic enterprises’ overseas production capacity deployment is yielding results, helping them avoid tariffs and expand into global markets.
According to the "2024 China Eco-Friendly Packaging Consumer Market Research Report" released by iResearch, China's pulp-molded tableware consumer market exhibits a pronounced regional concentration. The combined market share of the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic zone accounts for 65.7% of the national total, representing a year-on-year increase of 26.1% and making these three regions the core growth engines driving the industry’s development.

The consumer market shows a clear regional concentration, and young people have become the main consumers of eco-friendly tableware.
In 2025, the Chinese market for pulp-molded fast-food containers is expected to reach 15.87 billion yuan, with the food delivery industry serving as the core driving force.
According to a report by the China Packaging Industry Association, the domestic molded pulp fast-food container market is expected to maintain a high year-on-year growth rate of 22.3% in 2025, with the market size projected to reach 15.87 billion yuan.
Hubei Maigan Environmental Protection joins forces with local authorities to promote the utilization of agricultural and forestry waste, practicing the circular economy.
Leveraging Hubei’s competitive edge in the resource utilization of agricultural waste, Hubei Maigang Environmental Protection has officially joined the regional cooperative system for the comprehensive utilization of agricultural and forestry waste. The company uses agricultural residues such as wheat straw and bagasse as core raw materials, transforming them into biodegradable molded products through green production processes. This approach not only addresses the challenge of straw disposal but also achieves resource recycling. Such an initiative not only aligns with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ advocacy for the efficient use of agricultural waste, but also vividly demonstrates the company’s environmental development philosophy of “originating from nature and returning to nature.”

Hubei straw-based eco-friendly products have obtained EU PPWR compliance certification and are deeply penetrating the international market.
In response to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which the European Union will fully implement starting in August 2026, Hubei Maigang Environmental Protection has completed an upgrade of its entire product line. The company’s products feature fluorine-free water- and oil-repellent technology, strictly control the content of harmful substances such as PFAS, and have a porosity rate below 30%. These products fully meet the regulation’s dual requirements for environmental friendliness and recyclability and have successfully passed the relevant compliance certifications. This upgrade will help the company overcome green trade barriers and further consolidate its market share in international regions including Europe, the U.S., Japan, and South Korea.
Hubei’s straw-based eco-friendly technology upgrade project goes into operation, adding 18 million yuan in annual output value.
Recently, Hubei Wheat-Straw Environmental Technologies Co., Ltd., a provincial-level “Little Giant” enterprise specializing in niche, specialized, and innovative products, officially put into operation its technological upgrade project—a 1,000-ton-per-year eco-friendly pulp tableware facility—investing 12 million yuan. With the on-site support and services provided by the local industrial task force, the project successfully overcame key challenges such as equipment commissioning and talent recruitment. After going live, the facility will further expand its production capacity for biodegradable catering tableware, with an estimated annual increase in output value of 18 million yuan, thereby providing a more abundant green supply to meet global demand for food packaging.
